THe impact we have forgotten

As a Sapiens of the 21st century we, individually, have more impact on our environment and world than any human of the past 10000 years.
We as a species have obtained ,involuntarily ,capabilities never imagined and through our actions we determine more than ever, the fate of ourselves, the planet and every living organism involved.

“It is well in our power to destroy our civilisation and perhaps our species as well”

Carl Sagan

The trade-off for the interconnectedness of our species, the conveniences of our lives, the influence we exert on earth from the highest mountain peek to the deepest ocean floor, come with a great responsibility and unimaginable power.
We tend to forget our impacts, closing our eyes, pretending that our lives are unimportant. We might just be a little smudge on a vast cosmic landscape, but we are also a unique place of concentrated and unitary conscious experience, enjoying the complexity of life on earth.
Our impact matters, not to the universe, but to the billion unique universes of conscious identities that are embodied in the diversity of lifeforms on earth.
Cosmic indifference does not discredit our planets worthiness, it only should rather bring us a true sense of humility.
